New book recently out: "The Other Trail of Tear: The Removal of the Ohio Indians". A history of the Ohio Indians after the Treaty of Greenville and the War of 1812. It is little remembered today, but Ohio was once home to several large Indian reservations. The most famous of which were the Shawnee town at Wapakoneta and the Wyandot at Upper Sandusky. In 1843 the last of the Wyandots were forcibly removed from Ohio and settled West of the Mississippi to make way for new white settlers. Today little remains of the Indian history of Ohio, but at least books like this keep their history from being forgotten. The Other Trail of Tears
