I am aware that an "official" census was first taken in 1790 but am wondering, more or less, what the population of the Colony of Pennsylvania was in 1763? To include the "disputed" areas of Western and NE Penn. Any suggestions on where to look. Not too much Colonial reference material available out here on the leftist coast. Thanks. All the best, John in Oregon

I found my own answer....a rare occasion indeed. According to the PA Museum and Historical Department, the 1760 estimated population for the entire province was approximately 180,000 people with approx 25,000 in Philadelphia. Thanks. All the best, John in Oregon
