Here is a link to an interesting piece on Lewis Wetzel, the famous (or infamous) Virginia frontiersman who has been immortalized in many books on the Ohio Indian Wars. He was treated pretty harshly by Allan Eckert in many of his books, but some still think he deserves a better look. But one man's hero is another man's villain. An intriguing character from a dark time and place. earlyamerica.com/review/spring97/wetzel.html
