After the Indian Wars were over, Simon Kenton in his old age lived near Urbana, Ohio. Being a kind and generous individual he would leave some of his old Shawnee enemies live on his farm. Bonah, the warrior that captured him when he was made to run all of the gaunlets would dine with him often. After dinner they would sit and talk and Bonah would end up teasing Simon about him stealing his horses. This would upset Simon so bad he would end up throwing Bonah out of his house. When the neighbors would dicuss this with Kenton, they would say why don't you just kill him like in the past. He said No that was war then it's different now. The old frontiersman lived by his honor. I want to do a painting of this someday.

Sounds great. I hope we can all see the painting if you do one! Also, for those interested, Simon Kenton's grave is located in Oak Dale Cemetery in Urbana, OH and sports an impressive monument. Oak Dale Cemetery is a really neat place with some early Ohio pioneer graves. Worth checking out. www.shakerwssg.org/simon_kenton_grave_siteurbana.htm
